CHRISTOPHER WILLIAM HANSON

Christopher William Hanson passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his family.  Despite the devastating circumstances, Chris met this challenge with grace, bravery, and his tremendous sense of humor.  We are grateful and humbled by the demonstration of love and support for him during his final days in the wonderful community of Lincoln.  Chris was a devoted father, amazing son, awesome brother, and tremendous friend.

HANSONIAN IN LIFE

Growing up in Grass Valley, he was a thrill-seeking boy, shinnying up tall trees, building forts with his siblings and taking hikes to the Green Valley with his cousins.  He was a miner and loved the Gold Country. On any given Sunday you might have found him hidden away in the brush along Wolf Creek, hoping to strike it rich.  On summer trips to Tahoe and to the coast, he enjoyed the outdoors and considered himself an “adventurous nature boy”. Skateboards and bikes were his creative outlet.  He was an avid athlete, enjoying swimming, baseball, tennis, and soccer.  He made lifelong friends as he developed his athletic skills and his dedication to teamwork.

That sense of teamwork served him and others well as he pursued his career first at Washington Mutual and then at JPMorgan Chase.   He loved his job and coworkers.  As a Private Client Banker, he spent his professional life helping people become more successful with their finances.  He appreciated that side of personal banking and truly enjoyed creating a positive impact on the lives of others.  He was a part of an amazing family of friends through the JPMorgan Chase organization.   His coworkers will always remember “The Hanson Special” and they characterize him as loyal, generous, dedicated, engaging and kindhearted.

Chris was a devoted father.  He focused much of his time and attention on raising three wonderful children:  Analise, Jack, and Kate.  His hope was to create a legacy that they could be proud of.  Whether it was at an Oakland A’s game, a family movie night with candy galore, or a trip to Bodega Bay, Chris was a rock for his kids.  He drew his strength from his vast love for his family.  A family man in the true sense of the word, he made it a point to build strong connections with those he loved.  Backyard BBQs, Sunday trips to Denio’s, hiking, biking, tennis or camping with Lala & Voo were just a few activities that Chris engaged in to help teach his kids the importance of cherishing your family.

Christopher is survived by his children: Analise Kelly Hanson, Jack Paul Christopher Hanson, and Kate Naomi Hanson; his parents: Paulette & Kevin Simas; his siblings: Leah, her husband Jeff and their son Kelley Grimm; Brent, his wife Cari and their daughter Matilda Hanson; Darcy Hanson; Derek Hanson and his wife Bonnie Mortensen; Anna Simas and her husband Tom Flenniken.  Chris is preceded in death by his father, Lance Hanson. His kinship with the Evans Family and his connection to all Kerr/Lewis Clan are also noteworthy.
